On the way to Ottawa, we decided to stop off at Maitland Rd. to pay respects to Marianne's grandparents. We hadn't been there 2 minutes when we heard the rumble of a motorcycle. We turned around and there was Peter - Marianne's Dad! It was quite a neat surprise - being about an hour away from Ottawa.
The four of us engaged in a number of games of Trouble. Mom reigned champion in these games!
We also broke out the game of Trivial Pursuit. We immediately saw after a couple clues that we would need to adjust the rules to make the game go faster. Even so, the game was very hard indeed, for the pop culture questions were taken from material that was pre-1980!
After the first game (which Peter won, as you can see below), we vowed we would never play this version of Trivial Pursuit again. Well...that didn't last long. We ended up playing again the very next night, again modifying the rules - this time instituting an allowance for a "wild" category, where each player could replace their weakest category with any other category of their choice. This game went *much* quicker!
