We arrived to Amecet (the children's home) on the previous Sunday. Early that Tuesday morning, while Elias napped, we worked on sterilizing our bottles and mixing up baby formula for the 6-hour car ride home. Then when he woke up, we changed him out of the cloth diapers from the children's home and into our own, and put on a special little outfit we got, that has a whale on it that says, "Let's go!"
And the Care Order is completed with his name given by us...Elias Ogen Jeremiah Botting
So then, it was time to set off to Pader!
Because we waited in Soroti for the care order, we didn't make it back to Pader before dark. We rolled into home at 8:15 pm (about 1 hour overdue for his feeding and for bed). But Elias was wide-eyed as he looked around his new home. He particularly seemed to appreciate the "Welcome Home" banner we made him!
[Incidentally, these pictures were captured by our colleague Tom, who graciously had supper cooked and ready for us...but had to wait about 45 minutes before we were ready to sit down and eat it. Thank you, Tom!!]
Praise the Lord our God, who "sets the lonely in families" (Psalm 68:5). We're so thankful that Elias has come to ours!
