So yes, the other thing that has been taking up our other spare moments... Well, after we came back from the Ignite Conference in May, we started calling small groups to our home to simply share our excitement over what we got from the conference. Among those groups were the key leaders of our own local church where we attend. We didn't know what would come of any of these times of sharing. We decided we would just share, and see what God would do. The leaders from our church were very touched. They started discussing organizing missions training and collecting money to send missionaries. We were excited at their enthusiasm. However, we felt like you cannot give someone that you do not have. Historians don't make doctors. Only doctors make other doctors. Similarly, only disciples make other disciples. If discipleship is done well, believers will naturally be moving outward with their faith and overflowing with God's grace for their community and for the nations. Thus in a local church, if that is not happening, the gap isn't with missions training. It's with discipleship. And so, the Pader Town Church of Uganda Discipleship Class was born! We do not see this class as an isolated event. We see it as part of a movement of the Spirit that God is doing in our town, to bring about His vision of seeing Pader be a strategic hub for sending out missionaries. Just last week, we had the great privilege to witness the graduation of 13 men and women from Victory Outreach Church, who underwent over a year of discipleship with Pastor JJ, who was in Australia a couple years ago at Southern Lights Church and came back to Pader and launched the training here at home. We were so happy to celebrate with them! God is doing something here! Please cover the churches of our town in prayer. We have felt strong spiritual opposition...but Jesus said the gates of Hell cannot push back the advancement of His Church. Pray us through those gates in our land. Amen!
