They say all good things must come to an end. Paul and Anita have been our "temporary" Emmanuel International Country Reps for the last three years. Their full-time work with The Mailbox Club in eight East African countries kept them more than busy, but they accepted to fill the vacancy at a reduced capacity while Emmanuel International sought a long-term, full-time Uganda Country Representative. Well...three years later, there is still no full-time Uganda Rep, and The Mailbox Club is moving them to a new field! (Please pray for a Uganda Rep!!).
During their time here, they helped our team tremendously. They helped us in terms of handling admin issues as they needed to be addressed (like keeping our organization registration up-to-date, etc), but even more so, they called us and checked up on us regularly and showed care and concern, and helped give direction in our many decisions in our work.
We miss them!
We got to see Ron and Donna many times during their 2 weeks in Pader. We had lots of mutually encouraging discussions and some good time of prayer. They also joined us for our Saturday morning traditional pancake breakfast (bringing along with them a gift of real Canadian maple syrup from the Budges). And there was also another day with cake and coffee...can you tell we look for any good excuse to make a cake?
