Apologies for time past since our last update. We're currently on day 11 (!) of a power outage due to a transformer that needs replacing in our area. As such, our computer usage has been very limited. We run the generator for an hour here and there to get enough charge to make family phone calls and such, but blog updating has been a challenging! And so, enough about power, and onto CHE... We are so thankful with everything that's been happening with CHE. In November, we started with our second group of CHE Trainers to be trained over the next few months. This is the second group of nine division within the Diocese of Kitgum, and they are from Aruu. Here are some pictures of TOT1 with the Aruu group. We really loved meeting the Aruu group of CHE Trainers. There was an instant sense of community and cohesion in the group. They were quick to catch onto concepts - so much so that we never ran behind in our lessons in the whole week! The Aruu group is split into 4 teams of CHE Trainers. So far, we`ve had a chance to follow-up with 2 of the teams. We were astonished at the progress they`ve already made on their assignments given at the end of TOT1. The eagerness they displayed during TOT1 to move forward with the CHE Ministry is truly being evidenced by their ongoing dedication. Way to go, Aruu! Meanwhile while we are training the Aruu group, we are following up the 4 CHE teams from our first group of CHE Trainers - the Pader Urban group. We're happy to see that so far, 3 of the 4 Pader Urban teams of trainers have started (or completed) setting up their local CHE committees, and are starting to train the committees. On a personal note, one of the Pader Urban CHE Trainers, called Moses, recently had a baby boy and named him Mike (yes, after Mike)! On our most recent follow-up to Odum, we had the wonderful opportunity to meet "Mike matitidi" (little Mike). Here's a photo of "Mike matitidi" being held by "Mike madwong" (big Mike), and some group photos from the Odum visit. God continue to grow and bless the CHE Ministry!
We welcome into the world our newest niece, Abigail, born to proud parents Chris and Julee!
You are so welcome, little Abigail! We can't wait to meet you, and see your brothers and sister too! We pray God will grow you healthy and strong, and that you'll love the Lord with all your heart. God bless you, little Abigail! xoxo |
