One really fun thing we did was take Marianne's Mom to the National Art Gallery to see the Monet Exhibit.
It wasn't what we expected...we expected paintings of water lilies, flowers, trees, and the like. However, this exhibit was about bridges. Yes, bridges. Or more specifically, two particular bridges in the town where Monet lives for a long time, that he painted over and over again. Not exactly what we had hoped for, but it was neat to see the bridges under various forms of destruction and reconstruction, which were linked to the Franco-Prussian war. |
Well, they had this really cool photo booth, where you could pretend you were on a very old French post-card. Perhaps we (well, Marianne in particular...) is easy to amuse, but this was fun!
