We have just finished sending out the prayer updates to the people who have signed up to pray for specific CHE teams. The last team we visited before TOT2 was from Purganga. The Puranga team is doing really well, and we thought we'd share the update on the blog!
They are still working on training 2 separate CHE committees. They have been plugging away at this for quite a while, and it is a bit unclear why it is still not finished. However, as they have been going, they have been seeing wonderful fruit from the ministry, including:
- 6 Bible study groups are running every Sunday, and are led by 6 Committee members who were trained by the CHE Trainers
- Some who attend the Bible study have given their lives to Christ
- Latrines and drying racks have been built in every CHE Committee member's home (18 members in total); they are working on hand-washing stations
- The church members have started a community garden, from which they harvested beans, sunflower, and sweet potatoes last year that they are using to buy construction materials for the church
- A latrine and a house for storing items belonging to the church was constructed by the church members
- The Committee members have also been hiring themselves out as garden labourers and donated the money to buy 10 goats, that will bring income to the church
And all of this was done by the community themselves, with God's Holy Spirit motivating them and bringing forth the results. Praise God that He is producing something lasting through the CHE ministry!
