Many of our activities in the last couple weeks have revolved around introductory meetings. On one of our first days out and about, we visited the Pader Health Centre and met the centre administrator. He was the only “clinical officer” in the centre (apparently one rank below a doctor), and was a very visibly busy man. We were encouraged to hear he was open to possible future collaboration! We’ll see what opportunities and ideas emerge.
We’ve also started meeting community members with whom Emmanuel has been partnering for a few years. We’ve been in three communities now, where Richard led a Bible sharing workshop, and encouraged us to share anything that was on our hearts. The communities were very warm and welcoming, and each one thanked us for caring for their spiritual lives, as well as their livelihoods. True to Acholi culture, there was even a little bit of dancing!
Each day, new opportunities…
